AN/PED-1 Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinder (LLDR)

00The AN/PED-1 Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinder (LLDR) is a man-portable, modular, target location and laser designation system. Through its unique integration of state of the art technologies, the system provides fire support teams and forwards observers the capability to observe and accurately locate targets, digitally transmit target location data to the tactical network, and laser-designate high-priority targets for destruction by precision munitions.
00CE supplies the Thermal Imaging Sensor Assembly (TISA) that provides the night-vision capability for the LLDR. CE has been involved with the LLDR program since 1995, when it was awarded the contract to provide the initial IR modules for field evaluation of the LLDR system.
00CE has shipped the 500th TISA unit in July 2008, with additional orders for the current TISA design expected over the next 2-3 years. CE anticipates supporting the LLDR program well into the future, and is currently working on the development of the next-generation TISA.
00Manufacturer: Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, Laser Systems Division (Apopka, FL). End User: US Army. LLDR is being used by soldiers worldwide. Soldiers rely on the technology and quality of the LLDR to successfully complete their missions.
