Overview
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics
(L-3 CE) has been producing infrared missile seeker detectors
for over twenty-five years. We have designed, prototyped, and
mass-produced
thousands of detectors for the Department of Defense and international
customers as well. Our experience includes single element one-color
and multi element linear array detectors, and imaging Focal
Plane Array seekers.

- Joint Common Missle: For helicopters and fixed
wing vehicles; precision strike, single shot weapon
- Stinger: IR detector assemblies for man
and vehicle platforms. Defensive platforms include Avenger Air
Defense vehicles.
- RAM Detectors: Quick reaction fire and forget
missile. Designed for asymmetric air and surface threats.
- JASSM: Long Range air to ground standoff
missile. Advanced seeker/imager designed for deployment against
high-value, well-defended targets.
- STANDARD: Infrared detector for surface-to-air
warfare weapon. All weather, ship launched medium range.

Joint Common Missile (JCM)
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics has
been selected to provide the infrared seeker detector for the tri-mode
detectors for the precision-strike, single-shot weapon where low
collateral damage is required. The Joint Common Missile (JCM) is
an air to surface weapon for use by joint and allied service manned
and unmanned aircraft to destroy high value stationary, moving
and relocatable land and naval targets. JCM is a joint program
(DOD Pre-MDAP) with the Navy and USMC and is a Cooperative Development
Program with the United Kingdom. JCM will be used on joint and
allied service helicopters and fixed wing aircraft as an eventual
replacement for the HELLFIRE, TOW and Maverick families of missiles.

Stinger Missile Detectors
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics is the
supplier for the IR detector assembly used in the Army’s
Stinger Block 0 Missile. L-3 CE has been manufacturing Stinger
detectors since the start of the program with General Dynamics
over 25 years ago. Over the past 12 years, L-3 CE has supplied
in excess of 60,000 detectors for the Stinger program both domestically
and internationally. Prior to building the Block 0 sensor, L-3
CE built several thousand detectors for the ‘Basic’ Stinger
Missile Program. L-3 CE is a certified supplier to Raytheon Missile
Systems on the Stinger program. The Stinger missile was originally
designed as a shoulder-launched device and is now deployed in a
number of defensive platforms including Avenger Air Defense vehicles.

Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) Detectors
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics is the
manufacturer of the Infrared Detector Assembly used in the Navy’s
Rolling Airframe Missile Block 1 (RAM). L-3 CE has been on the
RAM missile program since its beginning and helped in the design
of the first RAM (Block 0) seeker module and in the development
of the Block 1 configuration. L-3 CE’s product has meet or
exceeded all of the system performance requirements placed upon
it. L-3 CE is currently performing on multi-year procurement contracts
for RAM Block 1 sensor assemblies. Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM)
is a lightweight quick-reaction, fire-and-forget missile designed
to destroy anti-ship missiles and asymmetric air and surface threats.

Joint Air-to-Surface/Standoff Missile
(JASSM) Detectors
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics
was selected by Lockheed Martin to provide the advanced infrared
seeker/imager for the new generation attack missile, JASSM. The
program is a multi-year procurement based on incremental funding.
JASSM is a long range, air-to-ground standoff cruise missile
being developed for the USAF and USN. It is designed to destroy
high value, well-defended, re-locatable targets.

STANDARD Missile Detectors
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics is
the supplier for the IR Detector for the Navy’s STANDARD
Missile. In the early 1990’s, engineers and managers in
the IR Products Group, working in close combination with General
Dynamics’ engineers, launched initial efforts leading to
what has become the current infrared detector for Raytheon’s
STANDARD Missile-2 program. The STANDARD Missile-2 (SM-2) is
the Navy's primary surface-to-air theater air warfare weapon.
Deployed SM-2 configurations are all-weather, ship-launched,
medium-range surface-to-air missiles.
