Overview
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics (L-3 CE) advanced
electronic technology and patented sensor architecture provides
high definition, low power consumption imagers in a lightweight,
compact package.
00The NightConqueror meets the demanding conditions for ground
battle strategies, providing enhanced situational awareness and
a common clear view of the battlespace. The NightConqueror extends
the reach of the warfighter in tracking/target recognition identification
and acquisition.
00L-3 CE imagers overcome atmospheric conditions and wide temperature
and humidity extremes. These high-performance imagers provide
greater detection capability for improved standoff range and
greater force safety, delivering up to 4x the performance and
3x the reliability at half the cost of current competitive sighting
systems.

Argus Force Protection
Systems
00Force Protection is a critical
discipline in today’s armed forces. L-3
CE’s NightConqueror is a valuable asset in the detection and identification
of perimeter threats. This high definition, long range imaging system has been
combined with various sensor technologies to create dynamic synergies.
00The Argus
system consists of a man-portable radar that detects an intruder and then utilizes
the NightConqueror thermal so the operator can seamlessly locate,
visually assess, and then track intruders. It can be used as a stand-alone unit
or multiple systems can be networked.

Long-Range Reconnaissance
00L-3 CE’s new
night/day imager lets users take the long-range view and
enables the combatant to operate above and beyond the fray
with this latest design infrared thermal imager. It's miles
ahead of the competition (kilometers, too) in its detection
range.
00The rugged construction handles the tough operating environments
of manned or remote-controlled scout vehicles. Operational
in daytime or darkness, at extremely long ranges, and unaffected
by atmospheric clutter or adverse visibility, this unit provides
field commanders a clear view of potential and actual threats.

Target Acquisition
00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics
MWIR thermal imagers can conquer the darkness and overcome
atmospheric clutter, weather, and battlefield obscurants.
Our new family of advanced thermal imaging modules provides
the highest definition imagery even under the most adverse
conditions, providing a common clear view of the battlespace.
Available in custom configurations to match-up to today's
challenging mission profiles, they significantly extend the
reach of the warfighter in tracking, target recognition/identification/acquisition,
and other land combat applications.
00These new L-3 CE imaging modules carve out a true path to
horizontal technology insertion across numerous battle platforms,
offering a quantum leap toward the objective force. They
are true "drop in replacements" that in every way
meet or exceed the older unit's form, fit, and function.
L-3 CE’s upgraded legacy platforms provide flexibility
and synergy in a variety of applications, addressing many
of todays most difficult mission profiles.
00While they appear to be functionally identical to the operator,
they provide greatly improved imaging performance, and gather
efficient, up-to-date combat intelligence for reconnaissance,
surveillance, and target acquisition. Additionally the units:
-
Increase
engagement range
-
Provide a wider field of regard which enhances
target acquisition 24/7/365
-
Distinguish friend from foe beyond
(normal) visual range
-
Provide precision sighting of munitions
with increased lethal effect
-
Engage targets faster at an extended
range

Laser
Targeting/Munitions Delivery
00L-3 CE’s laser “SeeSpot” provides
state-of-the-art target acquisition and designation. L-3
CE lets users view the designating laser spot and the high-definition
thermal infrared image simultaneously! This advanced technology
permits a broader range of tactics, techniques, and missions
for the combat soldier so equipped. With ground laser target
designators allowing clear target location, precision laser
guided munitions can be delivered on target, day and night,
and under adverse weather conditions. The "SeeSpot" will
also support reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition
for next-generation munitions delivery.
00A unique system architecture
allows the operator to view the scene unaffected by solar
saturation, battlefield obscurants
(fog, smoke), ambiguous target reflections, or atmospheric
clutter, even in high humidity. It provides laser imaging
in excess of 5 km. Compact, lightweight, and portable, this
combination laser/infrared imager permits immediate operator
feedback and enables more accurate image alignment between
the laser designator and the thermal imaging system. Applications
include:
-
Bore sight confirmation, crew weapons
-
Laser imaging/munitions delivery
-
Wide area situational awareness
-
Target identification/recognition/
acquisition
-
Forward fire support
