00L-3 Cincinnati Electronics offers over three decades of design and manufacturing of imaging sensors. L-3 CE has designed and manufactured sensors for offensive and defensive applications since the 1970's. CE’s strong engineering base and experience provide both new applications and retrofits with unsurpassed capabilities.
00L-3 CE is a world leader in the development of Large Format Focal Plane Arrays. L-3 CE developed its first 64 x 64 InSb MWIR FPA in 1988 and continues today with the current production of 256x256, 640x512, 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 formats. These FPAs are based on our unique reticulated InSb architecture that has been shown to be inherently scalable across format size while maintaining performance properties. These are used in the production of high-resolution imaging systems, targeting systems, and reconnaissance devices.
00The next evolution in Mega-Pixel Arrays will be the development of arrays with smaller and smaller pixels on tighter and tighter pitch and the creation of infrared “HDTV”.
