Force Protection is a critical discipline for today’s armed forces and homeland security personnel. CE’s thermal imaging systems are a valuable asset in the detection and identification of perimeter threats. Our high-definition, long-range thermal imaging systems have been combined with various sensor technologies to create dynamic synergies.

CE is supplying the replacement Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) Receivers for the Avenger Cruise and Missile Defense System and the Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) program. The new FLIR Receivers for these programs are based on CE’s NightConqueror Thermal Imager.

Counter Rocket, Artillery, & Mortar (C-RAM)
With hostile rocket and mortar attacks inflicting significant casualties in Iraq, the Army is supporting the C-RAM mission, a revolutionary approach to countering insurgent activities by intercepting rockets, artillery, and mortar rounds in the air prior to impact, thereby, reducing or eliminating any damage they might cause. C-RAM’s capabilities can be incorporated into forward operating bases and logistics supply area defenses. Interfaced with a multitude of sensors and systems, it provides an overarching protection umbrella of sites on the ground.
